Description Kim Horne CLA 2005-06-07 15:54:16 EDT
It would be nice if we could push the search functionality offered by the preference tree down into a
reusable JFace viewer. After using the search features in spotlight I find myself wanting to just type search
criteria into any tree I see in eclipse and have it find the items I'm looking for. We have a good start on
that already in the preferences, it just needs to be elaborated on and exposed.

What is wrong with the FilteredTree?
Comment 2 Kim Horne CLA 2005-06-07 16:26:04 EDT
Well, currently it's internal and it takes up a lot of space... perhaps if the search combo could be collapsed
somehow. Also, the behaviour on very large trees would need to be negotiated - as it is, it expands the
entire model internally.

[since this (really useful enhancement) is not Mac specific, I'm changing Hardware/OS to All]
