Description Xavier Méhaut CLA 2005-06-01 04:53:40 EDT
Hello,
I would suggest for a future eclipse version the following..
It could be good to have Eclipse installed like Java JRE or dotNet framework, ie
in Program files or other . Actually, we would only have plugins and features
stored there like JRE lib directory... The classpath should be set accordingly too.
What is the purpose of this issue? Imagine you build a product using reltively a
big number of plugins...Then you have a product which goes up to 30MB... If you
have a lot of product installes....you have 30MB*n products on your machine...
The idea is to have an EclipseRE installed , and to nhave in the product only
the classes defined into his application...Consequently we will have less big
products. Smart applications in dotNet use this kind of facility of DotNet
framework, and they have small applications in fine...(example WebMatrix is only
3 MB but use intensively the underlying framework)...
best regards
Xavier
