3.1 RC1 After detaching a view, I tried to reattach it, and it took me a while before I figured where the option was. I turned out that I add to right click on view toolbar. So now two questions: - why can't this be in the menu obtained when doing right click on the windows title bar? - how can I reattach a view that do not have a toolbar?
At least on UNIX systems, you cannot contribute to the menu provided by the window manager.
It's not possible to include the option in the windows title bar. I'd suggest fixing this by adding a "reattach" button to the toolbar.

Suggest also adding a drag handle to the toolbar area, to help users figure out that they can drag from that region to reattach the view.
Created attachment 22366 [details] Patch that brings back the default appearance This patch rolls back much of the recent changes to detached views. - Removes the new API for a separate detached appearance. - Makes detached views use the same appearance as docked views. - Removes the ability to minimize detached views (bug 72253) - Sets detached shells to have a blank title. - Fixes bug 97030 The drag & drop fixes and shell trim have been kept.
