Description Sean Montgomery CLA 2005-05-17 13:56:40 EDT
Hovers (popups from TODO items, bugs, etc.) shouldn't be clipped by the edge of the screen on the larger
display when using multiple displays.
OS X 10.4.1, Java 1.4.2, Eclipse 3.1M7. Use two displays of different sizes (laptop 1280 x 854, external
monitor 1280 x 1024, menu and dock on the smaller laptop display), two Eclipse windows open, one per
display, maximized, containing the same project. Open a java file in the editor on the smaller laptop
display with and get a hover to pop up - you made need to add a TODO, since there won't be any bugs in
your code ;-) Note that the hover is entirely visible - it's not clipped by the edge of the display. Now open
a java file in the editor on the larger external monitor and get a hover to pop up. On my machine the
hover pops up to the left of the mouse and the beginning of the hover text is not visible, being clipped by
the left edge of the screen, i.e. the hover's left edge is off the screen.

The larger external monitor (without menu/dock) on which the hover clipping occurs is to the left of the
laptop, both physically and according to the OS X's System Preferences:Displays:Arrangement pane.

The same bug exists for the same hardware in Eclipse 3.0.2, also.
