Description Troy Bishop CLA 2005-05-09 22:06:49 EDT
The preferences for the Progress view do not apply until Eclipse is restarted.
For example, Sleeping tasks are hidden by default... try disabling the option
and then click Apply -> the sleeping tasks are still visible. Restart Eclipse
and now they are hidden. Do it again and the tasks are not hidden until Eclipse
is restarted. If this is the intended behaviour then I would think that the UI
should reflect that the preference does not take effect until Eclipse is restarted.

This is working in M7. I am going to close this as WORKSFORME. If you can
replicate your issue in M7 or greater please reopen.

Note that there is still one permutation of this problem. See Bug 85308
Comment 4 Troy Bishop CLA 2005-05-17 10:25:10 EDT
Yes, I can still reproduce this issue in M7 (Build id: I20050513-1415) but after
reading 85308 I think that this is a dup. of that bug. It probably works for
you because you have the patch applied for that bug? (just a guess)

Actually, the problem is partially fixed in M7 :) Previously you had to
shutdown Eclipse to have the preference apply but now if you close the view and
re-open it, then the preference applies.

Yes the problem you are seeing is the same as Bug 85308. I'll mark this as a dup
then.
