M6 candidate on windows (I20050330-0500). I was trying to sanity check custom key bindings per the UI test plan and I found the Keys>Modify page somewhat baffling until I realized that there were special rules for typing into the Key Sequence:Name field. At first I thought there was no way I could reassign a key For example, I selected Category: Edit Name: Quick Fix Assignments: In Windows Ctrl+1 I went to the Key Sequence "Name:" field and highlighted the existing key (Ctrl+1) thinking I could type over it to redefine the binding. Didn't work. Then I tried pushing the arrow button to the right of that field, getting a menu that says "Backspace Tab Shift+Tab" and I wasn't sure what to do with that. So then I tried removing the binding altogether and making a new one, but had the same trouble. I was about to decide that this page didn't work at all when I accidentally typed a "D" while the focus was in the Key Sequence "Name:" field with nothing selected. It appended the key "D" as another binding along with Ctrl+1. At this point I finally realized that the input rules on this field are "special." As best as I can tell, you can't really do anything useful in this dialog until you've typed a key binding (at which time you can delete the old binding and add a new one with the new binding.) At a minimum I think that typing a key should work in the key sequence Name: field even when something is selected. That might give the user enough feedback to figure out how this field works and from there, figure out how the dialog works. As a secondary concern, I kept excepting a combo box that would let me select from possible key combinations, and kept hitting that arrow to the right which shows Backspace, Tab, Shift+Tab.
