Description Tom Roche CLA 2004-12-16 15:40:28 EST
A user can close the current editor with C-F4. What's the key to close
the current view, i.e. that has the same effect as hitting the X on
the view's tab?

In prefs>Workbench>Keys>Category=Views I see nothing like Name=Close,
and the following query got no response:

Subject: key to close welcome page? or any current view?

If there is no such key, there should be.

Try Alt+Hyphen, C.
But there should be a direct command for these too.

Yep, that works! Thanks.

Also, is this modifiable from prefs>Workbench>Keys?

The Alt+Hyphen binding for showing the part's system menu can be changed.
Category: Window command name: Show System Menu.

But the 'C' is just a regular menu mnemonic, and so is not customizable.
