Description Tom Hofmann CLA 2004-11-03 05:27:08 EST
3.1 M3 test pass

- open the Navigator or Package Explorer as fast view
- use drag & drop to move or copy a folder

-> does not work, as the fast view loses focus upon drag start

Seems linux-specific. Works on windows.
Comment 2 Tom Hofmann CLA 2006-05-23 06:37:53 EDT
Still annoying in eclipse 3.2.

Though not specific to the problem reported in this bug, it is important to document the fact that there is also a problem with the workaround.

Consider the following scenario. You have your package explorer view docked as a "fast view". Now you want to move or copy a folder via drag and drop. Therefore, because of this bug, you disable the fast view, thus enabling the drag and drop. Reenabling fast view will now drop the view icon at the bottom of the fast view list rather than restoring its position. Hence, what was once at the top of the list is now at the bottom.

I propose that another bug be opened for that issue, but again, it is important to recognize that this is more than just an inconvience for Linux users. It is a real pain if you prefer fast views.

Even scarier now...it leaves the view on the screen but (apparently) transparent to the drop events (i.e. the drop gets handled by whatever is 'under' the fast view (even though it's still showing0.

Just verified with Bogdan that this is still the case. It's quite Linux specific (works on Max/Win) so I'm going to transfer this over to SWT for a look...

This bug can't be reproduced with Neon. As it's really old and I haven't experienced this issue in years marking it as closed. Please reopen if you still experience it with supported SWT version.
