Description Jan Hendrik Scheufen CLA 2004-09-30 05:04:02 EDT
It would be great if the "Add Task" action in the Tasks View considered the
current selection of the Navigator as the task's resource target.
This means that when the Navigator is the active viewpart and there is a
resource selected, clicking the "Add Task" button in the Tasks View should show
the "Add Task" dialog with the selected resource in its "On Resource" field
(possibly "In Folder" filled out, too, depending on the kind of resource).

This behavior was actually available in Eclipse 2.1.x and has been removed in
3.0 where it is only available via Edit Menu -> Add Task.
The 'old' behavior can be seen as an equally fast and effective way of adding
tasks to resources as proposed in the closed bug 26232 (via navigator context menu).

The changed behavior for adding tasks between 2.1.x and 3.0 could be considered
a regression.

This is a duplicate of bug #66160, but I can't mark it as such.
