If I have a Microsoft Word document as part of my project, I can edit it 
inside Eclipse.

If I open a word document as an external file, I get the Microsoft Word 
document opened as a text file.

The open external document function is owned by the text team.  Reassigning.

Folks, 

Is there a patch for this.

My I was developing in a professional commercial environment for 7 months but 
3.0.1 and beyond fails to operate.

I receive JVM Terminated. exit code=1 when I try to open an external file with 
the file menu. The file I am trying to open is a simple web.xml file

Can you direct me to flush this out? Is there a workaround?

I have re-installed/de-installed eclipse/jsdk over and over trying many rev's
