I've installed Eclipse 3.0 on Win2K SP4 and JDT, and then followed the 
instuctions to create the "Hello world" java project. That went fine.

I then closed the Workbench and started eclipse again.
In the middle pain I've got the following message in red:
An error has occurred when creating this editor.

Sometimes, the following dialog box pops-up:
An error has occurred. See error log for details.

It does not say which error log. A search for *.log files in the eclipse 
installation directory has found two files: install.log and error_recovery.log, 
but none of them contained anything related to this problem.
Can you help?

The log you need is in your workspace directory.  In your workspace there will
be a .metadata directory.  In here there will be a .log file.

The first entry in the log file seem to point toward Platform-Text, but I'm not 
sure.  Please re-assign back if you disagree.
