Description Daniel Kogan CLA 2004-06-15 13:37:40 EDT
org.eclipse.jface.viewers.TreeViewer is not accessibility compliant, since it
was not recognized by assistive technology tool ( Window-Eyes ).

1. The "plus" ( "+" ) icon that serves as tree expander is not recognized by
Window-Eyes(Windows-Eyes just recognizes an instance of "custom graphics" )

2. The check box icon is not recognized by Window-Eyes as a checkbox(Windows-
Eyes just recognizes an instance of "custom graphics" ) and therefore there is
no information about the status of checkbox as well

3. Because tree expander is not recognized by Window-Eyes there is no
information about branch status being expanded or collapsed

4. The tree nodes are not being recognized by Window-Eyes as tree labels or
branches

MS Inspect Objects works with Checkbox Tree, therefore SWT Tree is accessible.
JAWS and Window-Eyes do not read the checked status.
They both read the expanded/collapsed status and levels correctly, and they
know it's a tree (what version of Window-Eyes are you running? I have 4.5).

This is a JAWS and a Window-Eyes problem, as all of the information is
available to them, but they are just not using it.
I have an outstanding bug report with JAWS telling them of the problem.
I will send one to the Window-Eyes developers also.
