Description Dorian Birsan CLA 2004-06-04 15:13:03 EDT
When features are built, PDE should generate the install size and the
download size (zip file size) for all the included plugins
Comment 1 Wassim Melhem CLA 2004-06-04 15:56:56 EDT
This one is a pretty good idea.
All those 0 KB sizes drive me nuts.

Comment 3 Curtis d'Entremont CLA 2006-05-01 15:07:10 EDT
Shouldn't this one be assigned to PDE build instead of PDE UI?
Comment 4 Pierre Carlson CLA 2006-05-15 20:55:34 EDT
Any chance of seeing this fixed in 3.2 or 3.2.1?
Comment 5 Wassim Melhem CLA 2006-05-15 20:59:37 EDT
not a chance for 3.2.x. Does not fit the criteria for a critical fix.

Comment 6 Philippe Ombredanne CLA 2006-09-30 15:14:38 EDT
Note that I have a piece of working java code that calculates those sizes and that I use in feature generator, if anyone is interested. Yet again, since there are so many issues related to that in update, having a size of zero might be a good thing :-P
Comment 7 B. Chen CLA 2006-10-04 22:38:47 EDT
When you have hundreds of features, that becomes a critical function. Please consider fixing this.
Comment 8 Jim Robbins CLA 2006-10-04 23:02:47 EDT
This issue is starting to become critical for those using 3.2.x who will be required to stick with 3.2.x for quite some time. It would be extremely useful to get this change into 3.2.2
Comment 9 Chris Aniszczyk CLA 2006-10-04 23:40:14 EDT
I'll look into this. However, transferring over to PDE build to see if we can get comment (Hi Andrew ;p) over there as that's the logical location.

Phillipe, let's chat on IRC when you have time about your approach if you would like. I'm curious to see what path you went down on.

On a side note, I think there are a few approaches to this. One is to go the PDE Build route, another is similar to the site validator application that creates site digests and pack200's your site.
Comment 10 Pascal Rapicault CLA 2006-10-05 05:35:23 EDT
Re-assigning properly to PDE Build.
Whatever the nature of the fix is, I agree with Wassim that nothing in here is critical enough to warrant a fix in 3.2.x.
