The quick outline (ctrl-o) opens absolutely huge.  So big, in fact, that I can't
read the instructions at the bottem for toggling modes.  Screenshot forthcoming.

I have seen similar things: the quick outline opening huge, or very small, on
some occasions. Never reproducible. We should investigate whether the size
computation is safe; at first glance, it does not look like we can blame someone
else... :-)
