Description Ron Baldwin CLA 2004-05-25 17:37:10 EDT
I have a dual monitor system with the secondary monitor to the left of the
primary. With Eclipse on the left (secondary) monitor, the code folding
tooltips show up to the left of the collapse/expand arrows. If Eclipse is
maximized, they are displayed off the left side of the screen.
Comment 1 Ron Baldwin CLA 2004-06-16 12:03:24 EDT
I have just discovered that this actually affects all tooltips for items in the
left margin of an editor and not just the folding tooltips (e.g. breakpoints,
tasks).

Changing summary to reflect the general nature of this bug.

P.S. Is this the correct product/component for this bug?

It also impacts the quickdiff hovers that show the original text.
Comment 3 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-10-19 14:38:06 EDT
The actual location of a tool tip is not the decision of the UI, it is chosen by
SWT. Moving this bug.

If the tooltip is provided by the operating system, then the tooltip location
is the responsibility of SWT. However, there are many tooltips in Eclipse
that are not provided by the native widgets. These include the tooltip on the
editor margin which indicates the QuickFix problem, the tooltip showing the
inheritence of overidden methods and the tooltip for folded sections of code.

I think the tooltip that appears beside the arrow when a code section is
folded is provided by the JDT team.

Moving to Platform/Text.
