In M8, I 

1) deleted the "Steve/bin" directory,
2) refereshed,
3) tried to run something that was in "Steve",
4) got a "can't find main" error
5) Project->Clean..., 'Clean all projects'
6) tried to run the same thing again that was in "Steve"
7) Hung with 2 "User Interface is Blocked" dialogs

I use more than one window and had 2 open at the time.

(Similar to bug 57998 - the fact that Project > Clean was happening in the UI
thread was making this worse)
