Description eric eisenhower CLA 2004-04-14 19:43:00 EDT
Quick example. I've got they synchro view detached on one monitor, the main
Eclipse window on another. I hit the sync icon on sync view on monitor 2, the
sync dialog shows up on monitor one. This requires a lot of extra mouse work.

This is because of random parenting (i.e. parenting with null) and is not a
general issue. Please log a problem report for the dialog you see this in.

Moving to Team to handle the specific case.

The new sync code in the branch has a lot of parenting fixes, will verify when
we merge the changes into HEAD.
Comment 3 Jean-Michel Lemieux CLA 2004-05-13 15:52:05 EDT
Fixed all that I could find. Open separate bugs for any other problems.
Comment 4 eric eisenhower CLA 2004-05-25 13:32:24 EDT
Problem still exists. I've now got the main window on monitor 2, sync view on
minotor 1. If you do the pulldown button on sync to get Synchronize... (to get
the dialog), the dialog pops up on monitor 2. If you just hit the sync button
w/o the dialog, the progress window shows up on monitor 2 as well, - that's just
a visual thing - but still another symptom of the same issue I would guess.

Synchro dialog not showing up on monitor of event that summoned it.

Actually, the real irritation is commit/override and update from the popup menu
of a file(s). I've got the sync view on monitor 1, eclipse main window on
monitor 2. Right click on a file (monitor 1) and the dialogs for commit and
override&update show up on monitor 2.
