Description Jeff Myers CLA 2004-04-09 12:11:40 EDT
Need to get the SWT image grabber to work on other platforms we support.
Comment 1 David J. Orme CLA 2004-04-09 13:16:30 EDT
Gili, how are we doing on this?
Comment 2 Gili Mendel CLA 2004-04-12 09:15:34 EDT
We just have to enable the code ..., with a major severity, I hope to get it
fixed before our M8 stable (after fvt) build.
Comment 3 Steve Northover CLA 2004-04-16 09:56:37 EDT
Why is the component SWT?
Comment 4 David J. Orme CLA 2004-04-16 10:28:45 EDT
>>Why is the component SWT?<<

Because Swing already supports image grabbing. It's SWT that needs custom bits
on each platform to support this.

I'm still concerned about OS/X. Windows is taken care of and we've found a
workaround for anything that runs on X...

Gili, do we have an OS/X box yet or have we gotten someone to tell us how to do
it on OS/X?

SWT development is supported under Linux/GTK in VE 1.0 M2 and later. Additional
platforms will follow.

According to this SWT FAQ item:
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/%7Echeckout%7E/platform-swt-home/faq.html#carbonapp

We're going to have to launch the remote VM using the java_swt launcher when
dealing with SWT.

As of 1.2 M1, SWT development on OS X is now supported. Guess Motif's the only one left... but the community doesn't seem to be clamoring for it.
