Created attachment 283877 [details] PDF with screenshot of the problem. When I open the "Eclipse > Preferences" window and type a key word in the filter input, the list of the left side doesn't update the matched options, I still view the same list, what I have to do is resize the window preferences and that makes like a force the render and show correctly.
How reproducible is this? Is there activity showing in the Progress View or status bar at the bottom of the main window?
You can reproduce this just opening the Preferences window at Eclipse> Preferences menu, after that You have search some menu option typing a partial key word in the filter input (on your left side), and the options that match with the partial key word doesn't refresh. As You can see in the attached PDF, apparently Eclipse can't render correctly this area, what You have to do to see correctly is resize the preferences window and automatically You can see the matched options. That happens with other windows that have the same functionality.
I'm working with Eclipse 2020-07 and Eclipse 2019 R12 at Mac OS X 10.15.6 Catalina
There is no activity or activity on the progress bar or something similar.
Created attachment 284528 [details] Preferences window not properly rendered (it gets updated when clicking on it)
Hi, I am experimenting a similar problem, but only in Eclipse Applications launched through a standard run configuration. I am using Mac OS X 10.15.7 Catalina on a MacBook Pro 2020, and OpenJDK Runtime Environment AdoptOpenJDK (build 11.0.8+10). To prevent any interference of my workspaces and personal work, I just downloaded the "Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers" version of the Eclipse 2020-09 package, and the problem appears also there. Steps that I did: 1. Download and run Eclipse 2. In the opened workspace, create and launch a new "Eclipse Application" run configuration 3. In the opened Eclipse instance, open the preferences page, and then filter the options with some text (e.g. "editor", "content") What happens then is that the tree menu on the left does not render properly (see attached photo). If I click anywhere in the tree, then it gets re-rendered and it shows the filtered information. I have also seen this problem in another part of the running Eclipse Application: in the History window of the EGit plugins, when browsing the history of a repository and changing between the different options to filter branches. Hope this helps, Alfonso
This sounds like SWT problem. Moving for investigation from Mac people.
