Imagine my surprise after laboriously working to get the new formatter's 
settings just right (and it was hard to match previous "results") that I went to 
reformat everything in my (many) projects so they'd be nice and consistent, but 
I found there was no way to invoke the formatter except in an open editor. 
That's just not right. (This was on I20040318)
