We are moving all Eclipse project vservers into the eclipseprojects.io domain, and since your project has a vserver you are affected. In December 2020 the current eclipse.org DNS entries for project vservers will be replaced to redirect all requests to a server that will provide HTTPS redirects to the new domain until December 2021. All current vservers that have an eclipse.org DNS entry have a matching eclipseprojects.io entry, so you can do testing or even transition whenever is convenient. In general we expect most projects will simply have to update their documentation (or tools where required) to use the new domain name. If you no longer need your vserver, please let webmaster know and we will reclaim it's resources. If you have any questions, please ask. -M.
Hi, In the end, https://www.eclipse.org/leshan/ will become https://leshan.eclipseprojects.io By the past we were using https://leshan.eclipse.org/ for our sandbox/demo. Currently we don't use it anymore. It was replaced recently[1] by a new demo available at https://leshan.eclipseprojects.io which will conflict with the new project page URL. Do I well understand ? If I'm right, we need a new URL for the sandbox ? something like : - demo.leshan.eclipseprojects.io - sandbox.leshan.eclipseprojects.io Maybe it makes senses to have a kind of uniform url for all eclipse sandbox/demo, so you maybe already know which name will fit better. I'd forgotten about bug 543581. Since you are already using leshan.eclipseprojects.io rather than leshan.eclipse.org, there isn't anything for you to do, so feel free to close this. Project pages(www.eclipse.org/leshan) are staying put. -M.
Does it mean that my comments above is incorrect ? And so we will not need to find a new URL for our sandbox ?
(In reply to Simon Bernard from comment #3) > Does it mean that my comments above is incorrect ? Yes. > And so we will not need to find a new URL for our sandbox ? You will be able to continue using leshan.eclipseprojects.io . -M.
Sorry to insist but I'm a bit confused here. Reading https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=549358, I understand that eclipse.org/leshan will not exist anymore. Reading : > Q2 2020: Phase II : Sandbox all eclipse.org project pages onto (projectname).eclipseprojects.io I understand that https://www.eclipse.org/leshan/ will become https://leshan.eclipseprojects.io You last answer make me think that I misinterpret this. Could you explain me this a bit more ? what will become eclipse.org/leshan ?
(In reply to Simon Bernard from comment #5) > Reading https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=549358, Sigh, this is a left-hand/right-hand problem . I've updated that bug, and confirmed with the rest of the team that we'll start by moving the vservers, and then the websites will move somewhere at a later date. -M.
I"ve added redirects so that leshan.eclipse.org is redirected to leshan.eclipseprojects.io . As noted we'll deal with the project websites separately. -M.
