Created attachment 276871 [details] ParserInfiniteLoop.java - triggers bug When editing the attached file, if I place the cursor on line 7 between "entry" and ")", and pressing the "." key, the eclipse UI immediately becomes non-responsive, and appears to do so until eclipse is killed. Using jstack to grab stack traces, the traces for thread "main" vary, but all include at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.codeassist.complete.CompletionParser.resumeOnSyntaxError(CompletionParser.java:5519) This may or may not be related to #482663.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. I can no longer reproduce in 2022-06 (4.25) I'll take an informed guess that this was fixed via 539685 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 539685 ***
