On EclipseCon it was suggested to allow cherry-pick as merge strategy in Gerrit to reduce the "Rebase-> Wait-> Rebase again-> Wait cycle).

I'm in favor of this. For minor changes, this can speed up the process significantly. And we should trust our committers to judge if a change requires a rebase onto master or can be cherry-picked.
