Description Morten Moeller CLA 2004-03-04 17:08:04 EST
Here is a rundown of what is happening:

I detach the "Package Explorer" in one perspective (for example Java).
I go to another perspective (which doesnt show this view) and then go
back.
When I now return to the original perspective, the view is shown detached but
it is totally blank. The tab bar is showing but the content is white and there
is no way I can refresh it. if I undetach the view again into eclipse it
renders fine. It also renders fine as long as I dont switch perspective.

This -might- be related to the bug I reported (Bug 52669) on multiple screens
and detached view. However the problem occurs whether I detach it to monitor 0
or monitor 1 and that bug only happens when I put detached view in monitor 1.

Which version of Eclipse are you running ?
Exactly, what do you mean by detached view ? Are you running Eclipse with -
detach option ? In early versions of eclipse you could use it to enable detach
view (the view would be floating in front of the workbench on its own Shell)
but as far as I know Eclipse don't support detach view anymore.

This happens on any Integration/Nightly build after 3.0 M7. The feature to
float/detach views comes with the new look and feel.

I called it detachedview because the other bug report I reported on the same
feature (Bug 52669) got classified as [DetachedView].

Oh and its Linux-GTK related. It does not break on Windows platforms.
Comment 4 Felipe Heidrich CLA 2004-04-14 12:06:29 EDT
It is working in Eclipse M8.
Fixed >= Eclipse M8.
Comment 5 Morten Moeller CLA 2004-04-14 12:30:41 EDT
I can verify this is working on > M8 build I'm currently using and was
breaking before. Thanks!
