When on any text editor that has saved file and start typing, the main menu toolbar disappears. As result the whole perspective, including editor, jumps up. Very annoying for the eyes. When saved, the menu comes back and perspective along with text editor comes down to its normal place. This happens with latest eclipse Oxygen on Fedora 27. Never had this issue before.
Can you reproduce with http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20180509-2000/ ? Also, please attach some screenshots.
Sorry, didn't see that request to repro. Unfortunately that link goes to Page Not Found error page. Will put some screenshots though
Created attachment 274405 [details] This is how IDE looks before change is made
Created attachment 274406 [details] This is how IDE looks when I hit paste or just enter text Note that while the eclipse window stays on the same spot, the menu has jumped above the window, text window has also moved up about two lines of text high
Created attachment 274407 [details] After hit save (or control-S), the view is back to norm
Which GTK version do you have? Are you on Wayland?
Can you please try 4.8 rc build?
Some additional info. I am using Fedora 28 and eclipse is one of the applications installed. I do not use custom download to install eclipse. Current version of my eclipse is 4.7.3, not the 4.8 as I originally mentioned.
Tried 4.8 RC, had to manually add Maven integration though. I do not see the issue as of yet. Question - is this all about using newer version?
If you are on Wayland, it is about Wayland support, which should be better in 4.8.
Ok, checked, Wayland it is. Is this about Wayland issue or eclipse on Wayland issue?
Uggh - Photon does not have support for J2EE or at least I cannot find the packages. Tried marketplace, it just does not work (does not allow drag-drop) So I am back to the square 1 - jumping windows and disappearing menu in 4.7-Oxygen When is J2EE available with Photon?
