Reproduce steps:

1. Open Perferences->General, check Show heap status button and finish.
2. Right click the buttom heap status composite, click 'Close'.
3. Reopen Perferences->General, the Show heap status button is still checked.

With the proposed change, when the user 'Close' the bottom heap status composite, the related preference setting is updated.
