When I switch to another editor, I see how background becomes white and only
then editor is displayed.

i think this is a duplicate of 52433, otherwise, i can not duplicate what you are seeing.
possibly you are seeing this (incorrect) background color because of bug 52285 (performance slow 
switching between editors).

White background

See white band on right side of editor.

I see such white band every time when I switch between editors. In older
versions of Eclipse there where no clearing of right side.
And in general I see process of painting for new CTabFolder used for editors.
