Since the Mac already has a "focus ring" the new look provides us with another ring.

two focus rings
Comment 2 Christopher Lenz CLA 2004-02-24 07:26:57 EST
Looks worse with the default blue color (instead of the orange in Andre's
screenshot), which causes both rings to have almost the same color.

As a consequence, the focus ring provided by the platform loses its significance
in the UI: obviously, there should never be more than one focus ring.
Comment 3 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-02-24 08:44:19 EST
I think it is interesting to note that the focus ring provided by the platform
cuts the editor off from the areas around it (i.e. where you would see errors,
markers, breakpoints etc..), is it possible to turn this focus ring off?
Comment 4 Andre Weinand CLA 2004-02-24 09:18:38 EST
Yes, this cutting off is a big issue on the Mac platform.
Worst example: the two side-by-side text viewers of the Compare Editor.

Please see bug #28842 (and vote for it :-)

RC1

No longer an issue with SWT's new noFocusBorder property.
Can be closed.
Comment 6 Andre Weinand CLA 2005-03-24 06:18:46 EST
Is fixed.
