Description Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-02-13 10:32:37 EST
build I20040212 (2000)

1) perform a Java search
2) opening a method found in a search
3) this will open in the Method Only view and from that point on all browseing
from that method is in method only view.
4) this was not the case in the I20040210 build and seems unintentional. It
also causes a context switch that is unexpected. Opening should use my
preferred style of java browseing (class vs method) IMHO

I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

1) I suspect by the "method only" view, you mean the "Show Selected Element
Only" mode in the editor?
2) When I double click on a method in the new search view, the editor setting is
respected.

Since I haven't heard back....
Comment 3 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-03-17 09:34:02 EST
I agree it may not be a search problem. I think perhaps my steps are not the
only way to cause this but there have been a lot of posts on the mailing lists
about this same problem. Somehow people are getting into a state where they
are in this browsing mode and can not figure out how that happened.

Has anything changed here? Key bindings? other?

Michael,

the problem with the segmeneted button is covered in bug 20155.

I am not seeing the behaviour you're reporting. Obviously, we're doing something
different. Could you please state:

1) Whether this is repeateable
2) What you search for (if it matters)
3) How you open the method (stepping through matches, double click?)
4) Is the method you're opening binary or source?
Comment 6 Thomas M??der CLA 2004-04-29 05:18:06 EDT
I have no steps, it's probably not search. Moving to platform-text for
consideration; I'm out of ideas.
