HTTPS seems to be broken: 

https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/tmf/xtext/idea/2.10.0/org.eclipse.xtext.idea-2.10.0.zip

HTTP works fine:

http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/tmf/xtext/idea/2.10.0/org.eclipse.xtext.idea-2.10.0.zip

Or is it never worked with https?

I found  #444350 so it never worked before

Would it be possible to at least redirect to http?

I think the issue with redirecting from HTTPS to HTTP is that it will result in bugs that presume the HTTPS service is broken(it's redirecting to HTTP?) rather than the HTTPS method is 'unsupported'.

I'm going to close as 'wontfix', but you're free to re-open if you feel stongly about it.
