The problem is that the properties view is not well refreshed when an element which provides no properties view is selected from the model explorer. See the attached screenshot, on the left side we see the 'No properties available' message and on the right side we still see the content of the previously selected element. The title is neither updated correctly. To reproduce create a properties view configuration, select from the model explorer an element which provides properties view computed from an EEF configuration and then select an element which does not contribute properties view.
New Gerrit change created: https://git.eclipse.org/r/82544
The patch at https://git.eclipse.org/r/82544 *seems* to fix (or at least work around) the issue. However I don't known enough about the nitty gritty details of the EEF runtime to understand the possible impacts, and it looks too simple to be right :) From the comment that was there before, it looks like it could have performance impacts. I'am adding Stéphane in CC as he is the one with the most knoweldge of this area (but unfortunately not available before next week). Stéphane, what do you think?
