Description Michael Vorburger CLA 2016-06-28 08:48:25 EDT
As part of bug 496923, and somewhat similar to bug 496924 about the root window (perhaps same root cause?) I've noticed that various "pop-up" dialogs in Eclipse render incorrectly at first under Wayland, and then redraw themselves correctly if you Alt-Tab out into another Window and back into Eclipse.

For example, see the attached screenshots for Help > About. I'm seeing similar effects in other pop-ups, but for now won't open new bugs, as I suspect someone will determine these are all inter-related?

Suggest priority P2 / critical as this one, due to missing buttons in pop-ups (due to window size?) seen in 2nd attached screenshot makes using Eclipse under Wayland not really feasible right now.

Ian, please take a look and see if you can reproduce this on Fedora 24 Wayland.

Tried this using Fedora 24 Wayland with newest GTK 3.22.1, didn't seem to have any rendering issues. Could you try running your eclipse in the newest version of GTK and see if that works for you?

// side note.
I'll upgrade my Fedora later this week and will also try this. I've been able to reproduce this in the past.

Bad news, looks like the problem exists after updating to a fresh fedora 25 alpha in Wayland. I am not sure why I didn't see that issue at 24, but its defintaely there now.
