Description Vaninder Rajput CLA 2016-03-11 14:58:14 EST
org.eclipse.datatools.connectivity.oda in dtp-repository-1.13.0.201512142037.zip has dependancy on com.ibm.icu:

Require-Bundle: com.ibm.icu;visibility:=reexport;bundle-versi
 on="[54.1.1,55.0.0)"

In the newere Eclipse platform builds, they have moved to com.ibm.icu.56.1.0 version.. Please update the versions in manifest accordingly.

Thanks

Hi, I already opened bug 489174 for this, since it was reported by Kit Lo.
I've tried a couple of things that didn't work to try to fix this, but I've figured out a new one to try, and perhaps you can help.

In the DTP build configuration file repositories-neon.properties, it has this:

eclipse.platform.build = /eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.6M3-201510291100/eclipse-platform-4.6M3

p2.repositories = \
/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.6M3-201510291100/org.eclipse.platform.source-4.6M3.zip,\
/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.6M3-201510291100/org.eclipse.jdt.source-4.6M3.zip,\
/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.6M3-201510291100/org.eclipse.pde.source-4.6M3.zip,\
/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.6M3-201510291100/eclipse-test-framework-4.6M3.zip,\
/modeling/emf/emf/downloads/drops/2.12.0/S201509280952/emf-xsd-Update-2.12.0M2.zip,\
/tools/gef/downloads/drops/3.11.0/S201509280204/GEF-Update-3.11.0M2.zip,\
/tools/orbit/downloads/drops/R20150821153341/orbit-buildrepo-R20150821153341.zip,\
file:build/packaged_jars

So the DTP build is still referring to Neon M3.

What is the equivalent identifier for the latest Neon milestone that should be being used here?

Hi Brian,

The latest milestone that is declared by Platform is M5. However, M5 doesn't has the changes to com.ibm.icu. They probably will declare M6 this week which will have these changes. Meanwhile, you should build with one of their I builds. Here is the latest one:

http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20160313-2000/

Please replace the build parameters according to the information on the site above.

Thanks
Vaninder

Hi Vaninder,

I already tried updating the properties file to reference the latest I-build, but the build failed, saying it could not download the I-build. This is probably due to checksums not being computed for I-builds.

We are trying other approaches.
Comment 4 Vaninder Rajput CLA 2016-03-15 12:34:46 EDT
Updating the priority to blocker. Our M6 candidate should be sent out for smoke test this coming Thursday. but we cannot build unless DTP is fixed.

Brian, did you talk to David about platform's M6 build? If they can declare one, may be you'll be able to get a good build. because then you won't have to use an I build.

I have a fix (with Konstantin Kommissarshik's help). I need to move the new DTP build to the right place and update the aggrcon files.

Hi Brian,

Any update for this defect ?

Thanks
Comment 7 Brian Payton CLA 2016-03-17 13:02:32 EDT
This has been fixed, and the Neon build is no longer blocked.

I'm going to mark this defect as a dup. of 489174.
