Please add the Coverity Scan Plugin to the Triquetrum Hudson HIPP at https://hudson.eclipse.org/triquetrum/ https://scan.coverity.com/faq#eclipse says "Add Coverity Scan plugin to your build process" Also, should I add the Coverity Scan Plugin to https://wiki.eclipse.org/Hudson/Admin/Installed_Plugins ?
Ok I've installed the plugin, but have no idea how it should be configured. If you would like admin privileges so you can set it up just let me know. As for updating the wiki page, that is a list to track the plugins that were/are installed on the shared Hudson instance, not those installed on individual HIPP instances. -M.
It looks like there are some steps that need to occur at the Hudson admin level so that Integrity Manager instances are set up. When I go to https://hudson.eclipse.org/triquetrum/job/triquetrum/configure and check "Coverity", there are no Integrity Manager instances from which to choose. https://scan.coverity.com/faq#eclipse says > Manual Steps: > > Add Coverity Scan plugin to your build process > Register your project with Coverity Scan to get the Project token > Sign-up or Sign-in to Coverity Scan > Register your project with Coverity Scan. Project name should be the same as in Eclipse job. > After registering your project, copy the "Project token" found under "Project settings" tab I did the above steps. > Enter the "Project token" and notification email in Coverity Scan plugin There is no place to enter the Project token or notification email. http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Coverity+Plugin says: > Getting started > > Install the plugin using the Plugin Manager, and restart Hudson > Go the global configuration page ( Manage Hudson > Configure System) > If the Coverity Static Analysis tools are not on the PATH, configure the location (for the master) here. > Add connection details for any number of Integrity Manager instances you want to use. Click ‘check’ to validate your settings. > For any node where Coverity Static Analysis is not on the PATH (and is on a different location then on the master), configure the location on the node configuration page. So, I think above steps need to occur. If you could do them, then great, or, if I could be an admin, then I'll do them and document what needs to be done. Have the Coverity Static Analysis tools been installed? They are available via https://scan.coverity.com/download?tab=java, which probably requires a free account. If the Coverity Static Analysis tools have been installed, could you let me know where they are installed? If the tools were installed, I could add a target to an ant script that would invoke the tools and upload the results to Coverity Scan. I think the Coverity Hudson plugin is mainly for invoking the tools and then showing the results from within Hudson. I'm primarily interested in having the scan done. I'm less interested in where the results appear.
I've granted you admin permissions (since you're a PL) so that you can configure the plugin as required. Please be aware that if you 'damage' your HIPP instance, we'll simply re-deploy it with our stock configuration. -M.
It looks like the Coverity Hudson plug-in has changed. https://scan.coverity.com/faq#eclipse says "Enter the "Project token" and notification email in Coverity Scan plugin" There is no where to enter the token and email in either the HIPP-wide configuration or the project-specific configuration. I'll follow up with Coverity and see what they have to say. My guess is that Coverity Scan is no longer supported by the Coverity Hudson plug-in. I checked the Coverity Jenkins plug-in and it is similar. Would it be possible to have the Coverity tools installed? They are available via https://scan.coverity.com/download?tab=java, which probably requires a free account. I would need to know the path to the install directory. Thanks, _Christopher
Ok, scan-admin@coverity wrote: > No; the Jenkins/Hudson plugin is not supported in SCAN. So, the Coverity plug-in could be removed. I've disabled the Coverity plug-in in the Triquetrum Hudson configuration. I have not restarted Hudson, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do that. I'd be grateful if the Coverity tools could be installed, please see my previous comment for details.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
Closing. Please re-open if there is still something that needs to be done.
