4.5.1 on El Capitan, windows of setting UI suffers cascade problem. the window popped-up which should be displayed at front, is hidden behind. This is consistent and no way to prevent it. This makes it extremely difficult under most circumstances and in some cases impossible to use Eclipse as ANY dialog that opens up another dialog is covering that dialog and moving that parent simply moves the child and you can't get to it. The only workaround I've been able to do is try to get the parent dialog into a corner of the screen so when the child pops up it isn't occluded by the parent. Needless to say, this isn't simply annoying, it can prevent the use of Eclipse. I've looked around and found someone on the Apple forum talking about the same problem (http://is.gd/fhs7tE). A fellow developer that just upgraded to Mars on El Capitan has found the same problem.
Mars on El Capitain: I'm also hitting this problem. It occurs when one settings dialog opens another dialog. That second dialog gets displayed in back of the first. This happens when I've got Eclipse in total full screen mode (i.e. it has its own desktop, and the window is completely maximized). I've found that if I switch desktops or if I toggle Eclipse between full screen and window mode, the problem sometimes corrects itself, but not always.
Huh. I took eclipse out of full screen mode and that does fix this, at least for my initial tests. Weird coupling with full screen mode.
I can confirm this bug - in fullscreen mode on OS X El Capitan all confirmation pop-ups in the preferences dialog or project properties are not visible. Simple example how to reproduce: 1. Open project properties 2. Go to builders 3. Disable any builder - this results in a warning dialog that this is an "advanced operation" 4. If in full screen mode on OS X El Capitan, the warning dialog will not be visible I'm using OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 Eclipse Mars Release (4.5.1) Build id: 20150924-1200
