Created attachment 256782 [details] Config Running Fedora 22 with Gnome 3 I'm seeing the outofmemoryerror reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/897013. I can't tell if this is a reasonable thing for Eclipse to look at 'avoiding' or whether the extension is doing something wrong - but I only see a problem with Eclipse when this extension is active. I've attached a stack trace and config.

Please try to use Eclipse 4.5, which should have the fix (more a workaround) for this issue. The root cause is that the clipboard contains some highly unexpected data which Eclipse tries to interpret and fails :-( If 4.5 does not solve the problem for you, please reopen this bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 205678 ***
Thank you for replying so promptly - I did notice 205678, but couldn't tell if it was a slam-dunk dup. I'll try 4.5 and report back.
To the extent that I just ran with a freshly downloaded 4.5, turned the extension back on and then ran both a Kepler and RTC and saw the coredumps, but the 4.5 with a project explorer view open worked fine, it seem that 4.5 does indeed alleviate this problem - thanks.
(In reply to Ian Mitchell from comment #4) > but the 4.5 with a project explorer view open worked fine, it seem that 4.5 > does indeed alleviate this problem - thanks. There should be an error reported in the Error Log view in 4.5, but not OOM anymore.
Yes Andrey... !ENTRY org.eclipse.ui.ide 4 4 2015-09-23 12:45:29.360 !MESSAGE Transfer aborted, too many resources: 1533635181 !STACK 0 java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Maximum limit of resources to transfer is: 1000000 at org.eclipse.ui.part.ResourceTransfer.nativeToJava(ResourceTransfer.java:183) but as you say, no OOM. :-) I can't imagine why it thinks there's so many things in my clipboard... but hey, that's a reasonable check.
