Created attachment 254096 [details] Ecliplse Mars RC2 installer scaling issue Windows 8.1 x64 ASUS UX501JW with 4K display Display is 250% scaled in Display properties. See attached picture. Window controls are not following Windows scaling. And on this monitor installer looks very strange and almost not viewable.
Small text is almost unreadable. It should scale up accordingly, too.
I've now completely reimplemented the product list without a browser via bug 468880. We've tested that it looks nice on a retina display and on all three OSs. Please reopen if you still encounter issues.
Thinking about this issue again, we get the impression that there still might be scaling problems. But it's very hard for us to understand the details because we can't jut try it out on arbitrary display resolutions. Please help us by sending us a screenshot of your *entire* display with a normal Eclipse IDE opened in usual working size (ideally with many different UI elements such as toolbars, trees, etc.) and our installer next to it. If you can confirm that your problem is not fixed, yet, please reopen this bugzilla.
Indeed it is very easy to try it on normal-DPI display, too. Just adjust Display scale factor by 200% (Display | Screen resolution | Make text and other items larger or smaller | Let me choose one scalling level for all my displays | Extra large - 200%) and you'll see immidiately what is scaling up and what is not. I'll do a screenshot, too.
Created attachment 254137 [details] Installer This attached image is from the installer on 250% scaling which looks normal in size on my 15" notebook display.
Created attachment 254138 [details] Eclipse Mars RC2 maximized on a 4K 15" laptop display Please see attached pictures.
Reopening it because it is still a problem on Mars RC2.

Icons are very hard distinguished.
Most of the changes to fix this are committed to master: http://git.eclipse.org/c/oomph/org.eclipse.oomph.git/commit/?id=646ee3db6468604f4f9b679a9d49f47ae4c9a969 The only remaining problem is that the css styling of the product description uses px instead of pt. That needs to be fixed too...

Created attachment 269221 [details] Wrong icon position in Eclipse installer I use the latest installer on my Dell XPS 15 with Fedora 25. I have a HiDPI screen and the result is not as goog as I expected. In fact icons of packages are not at the correct place. I think this is related to this bug.

That should be fixed by this commit: https://git.eclipse.org/c/oomph/org.eclipse.oomph.git/commit/?id=5caede3cff25ff00af9fe9a3742c84db1f459b15 Also, this this change for the next release: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=558539 The dialogs will remember their size and previous commits made the resize hot zone wider so that resizing is easier.
