Description Markus Knauer CLA 2015-04-16 04:57:38 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #423734 +++

For Eclipse Luna it has been decided that some packages require a Java level 1.7 or higher, whereas other packages were only requiring 1.6 or higher.

With Eclipse Mars the situation has changed. First of all we all are a year older and more (most) users have updated their Java VMs to a higher version, i.e. it is safe to assume that less and less people will run into problems when we increment our version requirement in the remaining packages to 1.7, too.

But the more important reason is that the Eclipse Platform team is delivering some core bundles with a BREE of 1.7 (see message [1] on epp-dev).

Therefore we should think about changing the remaining packages to require at least 1.7, too.

Makes sense, I'm sure all packages have bundles requiring Java 7 at this point.
