Description Matthias Mailänder CLA 2014-11-15 15:15:58 EST
This worked before, but I changed email and employee. Seems to have broken Gerrit. Bugzilla still works. https://projects.eclipse.org too although I get a 404 after logging in.
Comment 1 Denis Roy CLA 2014-11-17 14:21:56 EST
Can you tell us what your old email address was?
Comment 2 Matthias Mailänder CLA 2014-11-17 14:56:21 EST
matthias.mailaender@vogella.com
Comment 3 Denis Roy CLA 2014-11-17 15:36:02 EST
I've removed the old entry in Gerrit. Are you able to log in now?
Comment 4 Matthias Mailänder CLA 2014-11-30 14:21:20 EST
No, I still get "Invalid username or password." on https://git.eclipse.org/r/login

Pushing fails with:

Repository ssh://mmailnder@git.eclipse.org:29418/platform/eclipse.platform.swt.git

A Contributor License Agreement is required.

Mattias, I apologize for the delay. Can you try logging into Gerrit again? I've checked all the aspects of your Gerrit account and they look OK.
Comment 6 Matthias Mailänder CLA 2015-01-23 15:40:55 EST
Sorry, still does not work :(
Comment 7 Denis Roy CLA 2015-01-27 15:55:29 EST
> No, I still get "Invalid username or password." on
> https://git.eclipse.org/r/login

You are using your email address to log into Gerrit, not your user id, correct?
Comment 8 Matthias Mailänder CLA 2015-01-27 16:06:25 EST
I use my username: mmailnder. That seems to be what https://git.eclipse.org/r/login expects there?
Comment 9 Denis Roy CLA 2015-01-27 16:07:29 EST
It's isn't, and sadly, I don't have an easy way to change the labels on the Gerrit login screen.
Comment 10 Matthias Mailänder CLA 2015-01-27 16:12:27 EST
Okay, that explains it. I was irritated by that label.
Comment 11 Denis Roy CLA 2015-01-27 16:13:54 EST
Actually, let's use this bug to actually try and address the problem.

I want to thank you for your patience.. I kept looking at your account, and that's not where the issue was.
Comment 12 Eclipse Genie CLA 2017-01-17 18:13:49 EST
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Eclipse Gerrits asks for the username, but expects the e-Mail instead.

It still shows "Username" but expects my e-Mail address to login at https://git.eclipse.org/r/login For me personally the issue is resolved now that I configured the login details with auto-prefill in the browser.

We won't be investing any resources into this aspect of our infra, as it is either deprecated, or it will be soon.

We encourage projects to migrate to GitHub or Eclipse GitLab (https://gitlab.eclipse.org).
