actually it shorts my urls to integers directly and then maps them to bugzilla bug ids.

I think the URL encoded brackets ([]) were causing a problem.  I hit the bugzilla link below, copied the text into the shortener, and it returned this:

Did you change anything? It works, but I don't see [] in my url.. wait %5B, there it is..

I believe our servers are protecting themselves against the encoded characters in your URL.

BAD: chfield=%5BBug%20creation%5D
GOOD: chfield=[Bug creation]

BAD: v1=%5C%5B.%2Aplatform.%2A%5C%5D
GOOD: v1=\[.*platform.*\]





If I copy your URL from the address location of firefox (which is not encoded), and paste it into the shortener, it works as expected.

Please do not submit URL-encoded characters to the shortener.
