Description Paul Verest CLA 2014-09-01 02:29:29 EDT
Apparently TCF Terminals store more text in buffer that one screen. And user can scroll up and down and select text. But if user wants to get all of that text (e.g. to save as log, docs and/or search within), then it is not comfortable.

Please add one action (on View toolbar) to save all buffer to file.

Conveniently proposing saving to current project, or the one terminal started with.

For saving the Terminal Buffer's contents, you can Right-click > Select All , then press the "Copy" toolbar button and paste into an editor.

I'm not aware of any other Terminal Program that would offer a special action for saving its buffer, so I'm reluctant adding UI clutter for this ... unless you can convince me of a relevant workflow here !

What most terminal programs offer instead, is support for logging the input stream to a file (that is, including any ANSI escape sequences). But that is a different thing since you need to enable logging BEFORE looking at the output that you are interested in.

Does the "Select All" workaround look acceptable to you ? And if not, are you looking for saving buffer contents or would you rather want logging supported ?

Somehow I overlooked this command, and thought that I select only one screen content.
