This would happen occasionally in 4.3, but it happens all the time in 4.4, in both plain text, and java editors. Restarting doesn't help, and it manifests almost immediately. The cursor continues to function normally while being invisible. Switching document tabs doesn't bring it back, but switching away from eclipse and back, and switching perspectives, does. eclipse has android developer tools, maven, and subclipse. The mac is 10.7.5, MBA.
This is most likely a duplicate of the bug 431966 that fixes a bug introduced in 4.4. What is the exact version (build) of your Eclipse 4.4? Can you try to provide a scenario that reproduces the bug in 4.3?
Yes, it seems very similar to bug 431966 including clicking twice on the document tab reshowing the cursor as original reported. Unfortunately, this in Eclipse Standard/SDK Version: Luna M7 Release (4.4.0M7) Build id: 20140508-1440
Could you verify that the issue no longer occurs in the latest build? Link to the build: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20140521-2000/ .
yes, I think that build works fine. I could not reproduce the bug. Cheers.
