Worked in M6 and 4.3.2.

1. set the active or inactive part background color end to red
2. look at the preview: the border is red too
3. OK
==> the border of the views is not set

Meant 4.4 M6 and 3.x. In 4.3.2 those preferences don't work at all.

Still worked in I20140408-1645 but no longer in N20140415-2000.
