Created attachment 240972 [details] Loss of vertical space I have tried running eclipse-cpp-luna-M6-linux-gtk-x86_64. The icons, tabs, toolbars and menus in this version are significantly larger than previous Eclipse versions. This causes loss of vertical space for my the contents of my editors and views. For example for the same editor size (about 480 pixels) only 24 lines of code instead of 25 (and a little) lines of code fit when compared to Eclipse Kepler. In a view, the tab and its toolbar take up 50 pixels vertically instead of 30. Hopefully the attached screenshot can better demonstrate the problem.
What themes (Preferences > General > Appearance) are enabled in the eclipse instances shown on the screenshot? What is your linux distribution, version and desktop environment?
(In reply to Wojciech Sudol from comment #1) > What themes (Preferences > General > Appearance) are enabled in the eclipse > instances shown on the screenshot? My selected theme is GTK, additionally Classic and Dark Theme are available. My selected color and font theme is Default, additionally Reduced Palette and Classic Theme are available. I have tried each combination of the above, with a restart between each, and they all produce (vertical space wise) the same result. > What is your linux distribution, version and desktop environment? XUbuntu, 12.04 LTS, XFCE, fully up to date. I would be happy to try out other OSes if that helps (assuming I can run on LiveCD)
I reproduced your environment (XUbuntu, 12.04 LTS, XFCE, fully up to date, Eclipse 4.4 M6). Eclipse looks good with the modern XFCE styles (e.g. Greybird). The problem occurs with old, classic styles (e.g. Crux, High Contrast).
