All C source that I have encountered in eclipse, in my attempt to 'convert' linux-gtk-x86 to linux-gtk-ia64, has compiled (with gcc) without error (or even warning, for the most part). However, I am not sufficiently familiar with the eclipse build process to 'port' eclipse to ia64 completely. Moreover, the changes I have made so far total less than 50 lines, and so probably aren't even worth contributing. Someone who knows what they're doing could make these completely mechanical changes in just a few minutes, I imagine. I can assure anyone who tries to add support for linux-gtk-ia64 that it will be straightforward enough. May I ask, then, that someone knowledgable enough to add support for this platform do so? It should add <1% to the size of eclipse distributions, and would bring a solid development platform to linux-on-itanium users.
