Orion could be hosted within another product/service where they would like to customize the branding of it. For instance, the Orion logo shows up in the footer on the bottom left corner. Also, the nav bar shows the text "Orion Content." The footer has Orion-specific links for copyright, terms, etc. In order to customize these things you have to modify css, javascript and html files that are part of the Orion code base. This makes it more difficult to adopt newer versions of Orion. It would be great if there was a single file or some kind of indirection where all of the customizations can be made.

Actually there is something like that. Look at org.eclipse.orion.client.ui/web/orion/banner/ for files that constitute the header and footer. They can be easily overridden in your app. Moreover there were some changes recently introduced, see bug 410192 and bug 410177. Thanks to these changes, customization like the one on hub.jazz.net is possible in an easy way. Of course there is still space for improvements, so please raise bugs describing specific issues.
