It would be useful to allow users to package the WS as an EAR.  WebLogic provides a feature to define application scoped JDBC resource - which allows jdbc data source configuration to packaged as a module. This would make the generated EAR file (from DBWS) a self-contained deployment utility that can be deployed to WLS JVM without needing any additional JDBC configuration. This would provide additional security since the DB password would not be shared with the App team or the App Admin team.
