The whole discussion is in bug #229237, especially from my bug #229237 comment #6.

With ECF 3.0.1 (but also with 3.1) I experienced the following problem. When using an XMPPS account to an Openfire 3.6.4 LAN installation, accounts appear twice when I accept an incoming request of a contact to which I previously sent an authorization request.

Steps to repro:
- add a contact
- the other contact receives the authorization request and accepts
- the Contacts view shows the new contact
- the other contact sends me the authorization request
- I accept the authorization request
- the Contacts view shows the new contact another time!

Workaround: restart Eclipse to fix the Contacts view.

Note: I'm not able to test any more. I opened this as requested by Scott in bug #229237 comment #20.

I can no longer reproduce this, so am resolving as worksforme.  If this can be reproduced in some environments with the most recent version of ECF then please reopen and provide any further details available.
