Description David Wootton CLA 2013-03-12 10:37:17 EDT
I'm looking at the performance tab of the run configuration from the perspective of a user of a tool we are implementing using this tab. I think the ETFW version dropdown on this tab confuses the user and should not be on this tab. The reason is that the user doesn't necessarily know what the selection should be and why he should select it.

If he selects the wrong version, I suspect the run is going to fail and possibly without a good indication to the user why it failed.

Can the dropdown be removed from this tab and the logic be implemented in some other manner? I initially thought this could be a preference setting, but that doesn't really work since different tools/run configurations may want to use different ETFw versions.

Is coding this in the plugin.xml as a parameter to one of the extension points for ETFw a reasonable alternative?
