Running Mylyn Task List 3.9.0.I20130205-1655 on Eclipse Kepler M5 . When opening a task from the task list by double-clicking on it or by selecting it and pressing enter the task is opened in the background. When selecting 'Open' from the task list item context menu the editor is opened in the foreground.
Sorry, can not reproduce this. Do you have more information. Can you try to reproduce this?
Yes, it happens to me, but I guess that not when I first startup Eclipse. Do you typically use Kepler? If not I can try and narrow it down on an empty installation, but it might take some time to nail down the issue.

I work with Mylyn in the bootstrap mode and the Incubator on Mac OS X 10.8.3
I see that if I have more editors tabs open than are concurrently visible. The code in Mylyn hasn't changed to my knowledge so I suspect this is a regression in platform.
I can move this to be in Platform/UI but I'm not sure how to reproduce this outside of Mylyn. It doesn't happen when I open Java files from the navigator view.
I suspect this could be related to these bugs but haven't investigated further: bug 394517: Regression to 4.2&4.2.1: Editor fails to acquire complete focus on activation bug 403951: Editor fails to acquire complete focus on activation (was: 'open implementation' don't move cursor even click on class)
It might also be bug 404016.
When I tried with the latest I-build I couldn't reproduce the problem any longer. Robert, are you still seeing this?
No, I haven't seen this since your last comment. I'll reopen if it happens again.
